I got introduced to Yoga whilst living in Chicago, US back in 1997 but it was in London where I lived for 15 years that a genuine interest arose through attending regular Iyengar classes. My years practising at the Maida Vale London centre helped me understand the fundamentals and whole importance of proper body alignment. The more I practised, the more I loved the feeling of grounding and well being that I got from each class.
Yet, my curious nature and voracious thirst for knowledge led me to branch out to other schools of Yoga (Sivananda, Asthanga, Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa, Accro Yoga). Learning from different schools of yoga allowed me to introduce more creativity and diversity into my teaching. Over the years, I met great teachers and inspirational people. I attended numerous themed retreats and workshops on personal subjects of interest (e.g Ayurveda, Yoga Nidra, Meditation and many more), these helped me to deepen my understanding and practice of Yoga. They still do.
When teaching, I see each individual as unique and try to get them to express their physical and energetic potential. Each session be their collective or one-to-one includes pranayama (breathing), asanas (postures) and relaxation using various techniques to restore overall body and mind well-being.
I have always been in great admiration on how children can express their spontaneity and inner joy and not take themselves too seriously. So, whilst I love teaching to adults I also love teaching to children as on a selfish note this enables me to let my inner child have a laugh too !!
I appreciate it may come as a surprise to come across someone describing herself as passionate about Yoga but who also enjoys such fine things in life as wine...but who says we could not try and aim for a life of balance...not me for sure!!
A French native, raised in Bordeaux, I joined the wine trade some 25 years ago and have not looked back since!
I started my wine career working for the, then trading section of reputed Château Lynch Bages. This has sowed the seeds of a genuine passion for wine.
I have visited most major wine regions both in the Old and New World either as part of my work or as personal visits to further my wine knowledge. I obtained the Diploma through the WSET and was for many years part of the Master of Wines program.
Believing that the best way to learn is to get into teaching, I am a certified WSET Wine Educator at Advanced level and Certified Bordeaux Wine School Educator.
I have worked for many years in London as wine buyer for the UK on-trade business of a reputed family owned merchant Berry Bros & Rudd.
I host wine related events either for the general public or corporates in France and abroad. My humble aim is to share my passion for the genius in the bottle with no fuss while helping the participants to understand the exciting but sometimes difficult to grasp intricacies of the wine world. Themes for the workshops and/or wine trips are varied and are usually tailored made.
I used to take part in UK wine judging competitions and have always tried to remain a true ‘Commandeur des Vins de Bordeaux’ (honourable title obtained in 2003); a passionate wine emissary not only of the Bordeaux winemakers but of all winemakers accross France and the world!
Any questions relating to wine only themed tasting events/bespoke trips (with no or without yoga involved) please contact me on email@example.com or visit www.vinsdeuxmondes.com for more info on my wine activity.

"I took part in one of Martine's retreats in Bali and she was just fantastic as instructor, guide, friend. She is a very gifted yogini and see the true meaning of what yoga can do for us. It is so much more than the postures!" Shelley P. Colorado - USA - 2017
"J'ai fait appel à Martine pour un cours de Yoga pour mes salariées. Cette première expérience s'est avérée très concluante. Martine a su proposer un cours sur mesure pour soutenir le bien être en entreprise avec des conseils pratiques que les participantes pourront utiliser dans leur quotidien au travail. Le feedback des salariées a été très positif. Une expérience que je renouvellerai avec plaisir!"
